At Sharing & Caring of Benton County, we believe every child deserves hope, education, and opportunity.
Since 1984, this belief has guided our work as a 501(c)(3) children’s nonprofit supported by Walmart, serving families in Northwest Arkansas. What began as a simple act of kindness — a teacher noticing a student without proper winter shoes — has grown into a comprehensive Christmas assistance program that serves approximately 3,500 under-resourced children each year with gifts, food, household essentials, and more.
In 2015, we expanded our mission beyond the holiday season with the launch of the S&C Scholarship Program, designed to help break the cycle of poverty many of our families face. While most scholarships focus on college, we saw a critical need to support students who may not be college-bound. Our program opens doors to vocational training, certification programs, and career-focused opportunities — awarding 1,426 scholarships in 2024 alone.
Today, Sharing & Caring is more than a holiday program — we’re a year-round resource for hope and opportunity.
Our mission is to support underserved families, adapt to changing community needs, and empower the next generation with the tools to succeed. Whether in our community or our daily work, we’re guided by values that keep us focused on what matters most: creating lasting change for the children who need it most!
